Andrew Monkman received the Graduate and Ph.D. degrees from the University of London in 1986 and 1989, respectively. He is a Professor of Physics at Durham University and the Head of the Organic Electroactive Materials Research Group. He has held a STINT Fellowship at the University of Linkoping and a Leverhulme Fellowship. His research interests focus on the photophysics of organic semiconductors and properties of OLED devices. He has developed many of the spectroscopic techniques used today to characterise these materials. He has published over 370 papers and patents in this research field.
